Oscar to India

A R Rahman has done it! The music maestro has bagged two Oscars - for Best Original Score as well as for Best Song (Jai Ho) - a first for an Indian. He seemed to prove how good he is by giving a lively performance at the show.

And while we wish Rahman, let us also congratulate Resul Pookutty, who bagged an award in the Best Sound Mixing category, taking the Slumdog Millionaire award count to eight. Pookutty has truly come a long way from his small village of Vilakkupara in Kerala's Kollam district, to Kodak Theatre.
